Joining the League of Women Voters is a great way to get involved in your community and play an active role in our democracy. Joins us and become a member of one of the 700 state and local Leagues across the nation.

Membership in LWV is open to women and men age sixteen and older. With nearly 800 state and local affiliates nationwide, LWV is where hands-on work to safeguard democracy leads to civic improvement! Join us in Making Democracy Work™!

ADVOCACY/PROGRAM FOR ACTION - Learn about the LWV MN, LWV US and WCGA positions on a broad range of public policy issues. Take action on prioritized issues.

ANNUAL LEGISLATIVE INTERVIEWS - Provides an opportunity to meet their State Legislators, hear their perspective on important issues, and build relationships.

BOOK CLUB - Join us in respectful discussion about selected books

CANDIDATE FORUMS - Nonpartisan forums provide members and the public an opportunity to hear first-hand from candidates running for state or local offices.

ENVIRONMENT GROUP (E-Group) - Speakers/tours/field trips/projects with government, LWV Council of Metropolitan Leagues, LWV Upper Mississippi River Region, & LWVMN Climate Change Taskforce.

LET'S TALK - Facilitator led discussions on a variety of topics including current events, American history, women's rights, education and DEI.

ISSUE & EDUCATION FORUMS - WCGA and other LWV Leagues conduct studies on issues and provide community education forums.

LOCAL OBSERVER CORPS— Structured on the LWV US Observer Corps and the Right to Know and Sunshine Laws, individuals observe and report on government committees and boards.

STUDIES & PUBLICATIONS - Participate in a deep dive study of an issue to create a position statement based on group consensus. Lobbying and advocacy can only take place if there is a LW\/ Position.

VOTER OUTREACH - Engage and educate voters about upcoming elections and candidates and how, when and where to vote.

WOODS AND GROVES, CAPITOL LETTER, and ACTION ALERTS - Enjoy recurring publications that provide reports and updates on WCGA activities and the current legislative session.
