Annual Meeting May 18th with Dr. Duchess Harris

Updated: May 17, 2021

Due to continuing COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020-2021 Annual Meeting will be held virtually. The planning committee has worked to preserve the familiar aspects of our Annual Meeting which include a speaker/ webinar, time to socialize, and the annual business meeting.

The Annual Speaker Event - 6:30 to 7:30 pm - via Zoom Webinar

Open to Members and the Public

Our annual speaker webinar will be co-sponsored by LWV Woodbury Cottage Grove Area (LWV WCGA) and the Woodbury Community Foundation (WCF) and is open to both members and the public at no cost. This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Duchess Harris, Professor of American Studies and Kofi Annan Institute for Global Citizenship Faculty Fellow (Spring '21) at Macalester College. Her academic focus is 20th century African American political history and civil rights. Dr. Harris will speak on “Black Women and Suffrage: From Ida B. Wells to Kamala Harris.” We hope all members will join us to hear Dr. Harris who was named to the advisory board for The Kamala Harris Project in February 2021. The webinar will also serve as the kick-off for the 2021 LWV WCGA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts.

This would be a great time to enjoy your dinner and a beverage of your choice.
